Ultrakill ULTRA_REVAMP Update Overhauls Visuals, Performance, and Adds Encore Levels
Ultrakill's massive ULTRA_REVAMP update delivers a complete visual and technical overhaul alongside two extreme Encore levels. The patch also introduces King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard tracks to the Cyber Grind.
New Blood Interactive and developer Hakita have launched the ULTRA_REVAMP update for Ultrakill. The release represents nearly a year of work focused on codebase rewrites, asset modernization, and performance optimization.
Technical Overhaul and Performance
Programming work led by Pitr, Heckteck, and the New Blood team rewrote messy enemy behaviors and underlying systems to ease future development and prepare for Layer 8. The patch overhauls visual assets of earlier levels to match Layer 7's artistic standard, including a fully realized 3D city in Lust, while improving frame rates across every single level.
New Encore Levels and Music
Players who have cleared all base levels can access two new Encore levels located in the Prelude and Limbo. These stages feature entirely distinct layouts, gameplay, and a difficulty level roughly ten times higher than base stages. Additionally, three songs from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have been added to the Cyber Grind soundtrack.
Future Roadmap and Merchandise
Full enemy rewrites remain in progress to allow Hakita's team to focus on developing Layer 8 (Fraud). Remaining Encore levels will arrive in a later free post-launch update. New Blood has partnered with Makeship for a pre-order run of Gabriel plushies.
Why this patch matters
The ULTRA_REVAMP modernizes Ultrakill's performance and visuals while setting the stage for future chapters with punishing new endgame content.
