Superfighters Deluxe Update 1.6.2.0 Hardens Servers and Fixes Steam Lobbies
Superfighters Deluxe patch 1.6.2.0 introduces server-side monitoring for malformed client messages, resolves map start script timeouts on low-core CPUs, and fixes Steam Workshop upload issues.
Superfighters Deluxe version 1.6.2.0 is out, bringing critical server protections against malformed client data, fixes for map loading on low-core CPUs, and multiple adjustments to Steam Workshop tools and lobby browsing.
Server Protection and Security
The server now actively monitors client message activity after detecting malformed packages. Clients that cross specific activity thresholds are automatically kicked from the match. Server administrators can configure these thresholds in the config.ini file by adjusting key values starting with MSG_ACTIVITY. Additional under-the-hood fixes make the server more resilient against crafted or malformed client data.
Performance and Map Loading Fixes
Players running the game on CPUs with low logical core counts receive targeted performance fixes. The update improves how resource files load during map starts on lower-spec hardware and resolves map start script timeouts that previously affected these systems. A rare sound disposal crash within the FNA framework is also fixed.
Steam Workshop and Lobby Adjustments
The Steam Workshop upload dialog layout is redesigned to fit properly on a wider range of screen resolutions. A bug that prevented LanguageXML files from uploading correctly to the Workshop is resolved. Additionally, the lobby browser now uses a count filter when fetching Steam lobbies, preventing low default limits from hiding active games in certain scenarios.
General Bug Fixes
Canceling out of a game join request now functions correctly. Previously, the cancellation could fail, forcing the player into the server moments later.
Why this patch matters
Version 1.6.2.0 is a maintenance patch that shores up server security against malicious data packets while smoothing out lobby and loading issues for lower-end hardware.
