Superfighters Deluxe Beta Update 1.4.0c Refactors GamePad Controls

Superfighters Deluxe beta update 1.4.0c introduces refactored GamePad handling alongside new configuration options for controller indexes. The patch also fixes local multiplayer crashes and updates map-making tools.

Superfighters Deluxe update 1.4.0c arrives on the beta branch with reworked controller support, bug fixes, and additions for map makers.

Controller Handling

GamePad usage has been refactored. Local players can now join any match by pressing the attack button on any connected GamePad in the main menu, while all other pads control player one. If two controllers register input on the same frame, Xbox controllers are prioritized over DirectInput devices. Players can adjust bindings manually or disable Steam controller emulation if they prefer legacy setups. Config file additions also let users ignore specific GamePad indexes when using third-party remapping software.

Fixes and Polish

Visual clarity for team icons seven and eight has been improved. The patch resolves a crash from the previous beta build that broke local multiplayer, and fixes lingering problems tied to the individual camera mode.

Mapping and Scripting

The individual camera now correctly follows the player being controlled during map testing. Player modifiers gain new attributes including jump height, throw force, explosion knockback immunity, burn resistance, climbing speed, and dodge chance. Burnt skin assets are also now accessible in the map editor and scripts.

Why this patch matters

Beta 1.4.0c sorts out lingering controller conflicts from earlier test builds while giving creators more tools to build custom levels.
