Schedule I v0.4.7 Open Beta Overhauls Avatar System and Adds New Customers
Schedule I update v0.4.7 rewrites the avatar appearance system, adds specialized customer groups like bikers and businessmen, and introduces Hyland Medical as a purchasable business. The patch also includes numerous performance optimizations and bug fixes for late-game saves.
Schedule I has launched its v0.4.7 open beta update, bringing a total rebuild of the avatar appearance system alongside new customer groups, behaviors, and business locations. The patch also tackles late-game performance issues through item pooling and memory optimization.
Avatar System Rebuild
The entire avatar appearance system is built from scratch to support upcoming user-created cosmetics. Accessories and layers are replaced by AvatarObjects which support multiple layers and attachments. AvatarSettings are removed and replaced by NakedAppearance and Outfit. Legacy appearances convert automatically on existing saves, but reverting to the default game version after playing the beta breaks converted appearances.
New Customers and Locations
Four special customer groups now populate the world: Hippies, Party Bus attendees, Businessmen, and Bikers. These groups utilize new behaviors such as talking on phones, using laptops, sitting on the ground, dancing, vomiting, and revving motorcycles. Additionally, Hyland Medical is a purchasable business featuring a new interior and adjusted NPC schedules.
Business Adjustments and Performance
Laundry capacities for businesses increase in this update. The post office moves from 4000 to 5000, the car wash moves from 6000 to 8000, and Taco Ticklers increases from 8000 to 12000. Under the hood, stored items are pooled instead of instantiated and destroyed to mitigate stuttering in late-game saves. Icon generation for mixed products is also optimized, saving hundreds of megabytes in memory.
World and Gameplay Fixes
Physics props no longer fall out of sync when thrown in multiplayer. Pouring water or additives into pots and grow beds no longer causes frame drops. A new check prevents players from naming newly created mixes the same as existing items. Other fixes address dress shoes clipping with feet, skateboard input prompts remaining visible after dismounting, and incorrect avatar impostor positioning during ragdoll states.
Why this patch matters
Version 0.4.7 lays foundational framework for future cosmetic features while delivering performance relief for sprawling late-game saves.
