Mechabellum Update 1.2.0.5 Balances Units and Adjusts Opening Rewards

Mechabellum update 1.2.0.5 adjusts unit ranges, costs, and health values for units like the Tarantula, Sabertooth, and Overlord, while removing the Sticky Oil Bomb reinforcement card.

Game Server Studio has released Mechabellum update 1.2.0.5 to rebalance several key combat units, adjust opening specialist and unit bonuses, and eliminate the Sticky Oil Bomb reinforcement card ahead of the upcoming Update 1.3.

Unit Balance Adjustments

The Tarantula's cost drops from 350 to 300, range increases from 75 to 80, and attack decreases from 580 to 550. The Sabertooth's splash range drops from 6 to 5 to prevent hitting two closely positioned Steel Balls with a single shot. The Arclight now requires 15 percent more XP to rank up, while the Fire Badger attack rises from 27 to 28. The Scorpion cost decreases from 300 to 250. The Overlord receives a range increase from 110 to 115, a health increase from 21412 to 22054, and an attack decrease from 5238 to 5039. The Raiden and Death Knell receive health increases of 5 percent and 15 percent respectively.

Specialist and Opening Adjustments

Initial specialists and opening loadouts receive various player HP bonus changes. Initial Specialists now secure a free Typhoon on round 4 with a player HP bonus set to 0. Initial Farseer specialists now get a free Farseer on round 4 with player HP adjusted to -200. Opening combinations such as Tarantula and Marksman, Tarantula and Fang, Tarantula and Crawler, and Mustang and Crawler all receive increased player HP bonuses, while several Arclight and Sledgehammer openings see reductions.

Card and System Changes

The Sticky Oil Bomb no longer appears as a reinforcement card, though it remains available in the Research center. In 4-Player Brawl matches, neutral boss units are now weaker. General performance optimizations have been applied to particle effects alongside a reduction in overall memory usage.

Why this patch matters

Update 1.2.0.5 shifts the competitive meta by tweaking costs and survivability for underperforming units while smoothing out opening health bonuses.
