Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Update 114 Alpha 2 Adds Cursed Firearms and Nighttime Grillhouse
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Update 114 Alpha 2 introduces three cursed guns, a nighttime map variant, and a new Scene Fight panel. The patch also revises AI visibility mechanics and updates thermal scopes.
The latest alpha build for Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades brings a batch of joke weapons and mechanical adjustments to the testing branch. Update 114 Alpha 2 adds three community-inspired meme firearms alongside a nighttime version of the Grillhouse scene and a redesigned Scene Fight panel.
New Weapons and Gear
Three new firearms join the sandbox. The BARbine, a left-handed Mosin M38, and a ruined Lee-Enfield are now available for testing. Players also get the AGRattle19 thermal scope, which features cleaned-up rendering, reduced motion blur at high refresh rates, and baked lighting integration.
AI and Stealth Mechanics
AI perception logic for gunfire has changed. Standard muzzle flashes make entities fully visible for a brief moment, while suppressed weapons accumulate a small amount of visibility that builds up during sustained automatic fire. Sosig weapons now correctly register visibility events to the player entity, and AI clothing metadata errors have been resolved.
Scene Fight Panel and Maps
The Grillhouse at Night scene is now playable and supports the toolbox and scene saving. It replaces the old setup with the Scene Fight panel, which offers expanded options for structured play and saves configurations with scenarios. Note that resetting windows and doors from this panel is temporarily unavailable and requires a scene reload.
Audio and Utility Fixes
A wide variety of minor bugs are addressed in this build. The Snag Sanger now includes a magazine insertion sound, and the indoor range light switch properly updates the low-light flag. Numerous ammo box scaling, cartridge presentation, and TnH auto-cleanup issues are also corrected.
Why this patch matters
Alpha 2 delivers fun distractions with its cursed weapons while laying groundwork for structured sandbox scenarios and refined stealth rules.
