Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Update 114 Alpha 1 Notes
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades Update 114 Alpha 1 arrives with night vision equipment, new weapons, thermal optics, and Sosig enemy improvements.
Update 114 Alpha 1 is now live on the Alpha Branch for Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, introducing an array of night vision gear, thermal devices, and weapon additions.
New Weapons and Optics
The update adds the M3 Carbine with an integrated early night vision scope, a G17 Switch, and multiple new scopes including the PVS7, PVS30, Hunt35, SKT-IR, and T12. A handheld thermal camera is also now available as a utility object, alongside Violet and Amber color lasers for Laser Attachments 1 through 5. Old-Timey Spectacles from Wurstwurld are functional again.
Enemy and Equipment Mechanics
Sosig enemy templates in Take and Hold now feature rebuilt weapon selection tables with a wider variety of Sosigguns, and missing display names have been restored. Head attachments now auto-affix in proximity to the head if no other head attachment is worn, and include a four-second spawn cooldown. The Take and Hold wrist menu now dims when viewed through night vision scopes, and locomotion interface elements dim similarly.
Rendering and Bug Fixes
Night vision rendering features updated noise and improved blur functions, alongside an updated culling function for camera-relative renderers. Scope options are reordered to prioritize common settings, and Proving Ground components are now visible under thermal vision. Testing and temporary NV scopes, thermals, and head attachments are removed. Fixes address missing Sosig wearable components, broken weapon pickup behavior, unmutated LAM attachment points on the Mk23, and incorrect cartridge box ammo display orders.
Why this patch matters
Update 114 Alpha 1 brings extensive new night vision and thermal optics systems alongside weapon variety upgrades, establishing a feature-complete baseline for upcoming public testing.
