HELLDIVERS 2 Patch v01.002.103 Rebalances Double-Edge Sickle and Ultimatum

Arrowhead Game Studios has released patch v01.002.103 for Helldivers 2, adjusting the stats of the LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle and removing specific ammo synergies for the GP-31 Ultimatum. The update also resolves numerous crash sources and fixes misaligned scope crosshairs.

Arrowhead Game Studios has rolled out patch v01.002.103 for Helldivers 2, addressing weapon balance issues that slipped into recent Warbond content alongside a suite of crash fixes.

Weapon Balancing and Adjustments

The LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle undergoes a complete rework to create a sharper risk-and-reward dynamic based on heat levels. At 0 to 25 percent heat, armor penetration drops from AP3 to AP2, while damage remains at 55 with zero player self-damage. Between 26 and 50 percent heat, it deals AP3 damage at 55 with 10 damage per second to the player. From 51 to 90 percent heat, damage increases to 70 with AP3 and 20 self-damage per second. Above 91 percent heat, armor penetration rises to AP4, damage sits at 70, self-damage hits 50 per second, and the fire status effect is applied. Starting magazines increase from 1 to 2, and spare magazines increase from 2 to 3. Meanwhile, the GP-31 Ultimatum sidearm no longer interacts with the Hellpod Optimization Booster or the Siege Ready armor passive, restricting extra ammunition access.

Scope and Combat Fixes

Developers resolve a top-priority bug where the scope aim-center was misaligned with projectile fire trajectories. This issue affected all weapons, though it was most noticeable when aiming down sights. Additionally, an issue where players could accidentally arm the B-100 Portable Hellbomb backpack when entering the FRV is now fixed.

Crash and Stability Resolution

The update eliminates multiple rare crash triggers. These include crashes that occurred when joining a player who was actively swapping weapons, hot-joining a mission with an active SEAF artillery objective, changing language while subtitles were displayed, shutting down the game during a Democracy Space Station cutscene, switching languages during a mission, or disconnecting from a session. A separate crash caused by emoting immediately after dropping a support weapon is also removed.

Mission and Objective Fixes

Level generation errors that caused specific objective terminals to become non-interactable are corrected. The patch also addresses a bug where the Integrated Explosives armor passive failed to trigger properly.

Why this patch matters

This patch reasserts control over recent weapon additions by curbing unintended ammo interactions and fine-tuning heat mechanics, alongside vital stability fixes.
