HELLDIVERS 2 Patch 1.001.100 Overhauls Armor Penetration and Weapons
HELLDIVERS 2 Patch 1.001.100 delivers a massive rework to anti-tank weapons, enemy armor values, primary weapon stats, and player health mechanics.
Arrowhead Game Studios released Patch 1.001.100 for HELLDIVERS 2, introducing an overhaul designed to give players more loadout choices. The update recalibrates armor penetration, buffs support weapons and stratagems, reduces heavy enemy armor, and adjusts headshot damage mechanics.
Player Health and Damage Mechanics
Headshot damage dealt to Helldivers dropped from 100% extra damage down to 50% extra damage. Damage taken by other body parts increased slightly to compensate. Partial damage hits now deal 65% of full damage instead of the previous 50% penalty.
Primary and Secondary Weapon Buffs
Nearly all primary weapons receive substantial buffs. The Eruptor reintroduces shrapnel with balanced damage, the Liberator and Defender see increased damage and stagger force, and flame-based weapons like the Torcher and Crisper receive damage boosts alongside a revert to pre-Escalation of Freedom flamer mechanics.
Support Weapons and Stratagem Rebalancing
Dedicated anti-tank options like the Recoilless Rifle, Quasar, and SPEAR deal more damage to handle heavy targets. The Autocannon, Heavy Machine Gun, Laser Cannon, and Flamethrower can now damage heavy enemies like Chargers and Bile Titans. Stratagems such as the Eagle 500kg bomb feature larger explosion radiuses to match their visuals.
Enemy Armor and Health Reductions
Bile Titans, Chargers, and Impalers all have their armor reduced from 5 to 4. Charger and Bile Titan bellies now feature exposed health pools. Automaton Fabricators possess health bars, allowing them to be destroyed by multiple hits from high-penetration weapons.
Galactic War Features and Quality of Life
Players can equip up to four emotes and access them via a new Emote Wheel by holding the emote button. The Galactic War map displays strategically important assets directly. Dolby Atmos support is added on PlayStation 5 alongside a list of crash and soft-lock fixes.
Why this patch matters
Patch 1.001.100 shifts the HELLDIVERS 2 meta by rewarding diverse loadouts, softening spike damage, and making heavy enemies manageable with a wider arsenal.
