HELLDIVERS 2 Patch 01.002.201 Fixes Crashes and Reverts Weapon Changes
HELLDIVERS 2 patch 01.002.201 addresses multiple crash sources, fixes energy weapon charging issues, and rolls back unintentional weapon adjustments made to the Liberator Concussive and Breaker shotguns.
Arrowhead Game Studios has deployed patch 01.002.201 for HELLDIVERS 2. This update targets stability issues, resolves various weapon and stratagem anomalies, and reverts unintended balance tweaks introduced in the previous patch.
Crash and Stability Fixes
The patch resolves several critical crash scenarios, including a crash triggered by heavy particle displays, rare crashes during scoped aiming, and failures occurring during bot convoy missions. An issue causing crashes when receiving Microsoft Teams messages while playing has also been fixed.
Weapon and Stratagem Adjustments
Energy-based weapons now charge and overheat correctly. The GL-21 Grenade Launcher projectile drag settings have been corrected to prevent projectiles from losing velocity too quickly. Surface-hit shrapnel now properly disperses in a 180-degree arc in the direction of impact rather than forcing a south-west trajectory. Gas weapons, throwables, and stratagems no longer invert player movement inputs.
LAS-58 Talon Overhaul
The LAS-58 Talon receives several specific fixes. Reloading while aiming down sights no longer triggers visual glitches. The HUD now accurately reflects ammunition states, and weapon temperature correctly resets to zero upon reloading. Holding down the fire button no longer creates abnormal visual effects, and a minor charging delay before firing projectiles has been removed.
Weapon Reverts
Unintentional changes applied to two primary weapons in the previous update have been reverted. The AR-23C Liberator Concussive starting magazine count increases from two to four, max spare magazines increase from five to six, and its ergonomic effect moves from zero to negative ten. Conversely, the SG-225 Breaker starting magazine count decreases from six to five, and max spare magazines drop from ten to seven.
Multiplayer and Interface
Player Account IDs are now visible within the Options tab. The Jarndiver hoverpack override has been deactivated for standard players and restricted to General Brasch and Super 10 Star Generals, fixing a bug where players could remain floating in the air using draw and kick emotes.
Why this patch matters
Patch 01.002.201 delivers much-needed stability fixes while properly realigning weapon behaviors and rolling back unintended loadout nerfs.
