Dead by Daylight Update 8.5.2 Resolves 2V8 and Killer Add-on Bugs

Dead by Daylight patch 8.5.2 fixes 2V8 mode interaction snags, corrects broken Nightmare add-on behaviors, and addresses audio glitches across multiple killers.

Dead by Daylight patch 8.5.2 targets a broad selection of technical issues across the 2V8 mode, specific killer add-ons, map geometry, and audio playback. The update fixes lingering animation bugs, invisible collision zones, and incorrect UI labels.

2V8 Mode and Gameplay Fixes

In 2V8 mode, survivor Herb interaction snap time is reduced. Killers no longer stay trapped in trials after the End Game Collapse when a bot gets stuck in a cage state. Interrupting a survivor getting vaccinated or sprayed while they are targeted by the Deathslinger's harpoon now preserves their struggle animation. Picking up survivors with Naughty Bear no longer causes them to float briefly before entering a cage, and crates in the Raccoon City Police Station main hall no longer catch players on top of them.

Killer Add-on and Power Corrections

Several killer powers and add-ons receive functional fixes. The Nightmare's Class Photo add-on no longer teleports him beyond exit gates on Greenville Square, and Dream Pallet shimmer intensity no longer defaults to maximum outside visible range. The Executioner's Wax Doll and Black Strap add-ons now grant distinct ranges to Punishment of the Damned instead of identical values. The Onryo's Reiko's Watch add-on functions properly again, and the Mastermind's Iridescent Uroboros Vial no longer triggers rapid infection spikes at match start.

Map Environment and Audio Fixes

Dead Dawg Saloon corrects incorrect material footstep sound effects for killers. Huntress, Plague, Blight, and Knight outfits now properly play chain and leather movement audio in menus and matches. Environmental issues are resolved, including missing pallets in Decimated Borgo, invisible collision blocks near exit gates on maps affected by the Plague's Vile Purge, and camera clipping near tree tiles on Coldwind Farm.

UI and General Bug Fixes

Lobby bugs where player names and invite buttons vanish after returning from the Archives are resolved. Beginner mode tooltips no longer turn invisible when hovering over loadout slots. Additionally, the event overview screen corrects a text error referencing the Raccoon City Police Station as a department.

Why this patch matters

Version 8.5.2 delivers necessary technical cleanup, restoring reliable add-on functionality and fixing persistent collision issues across multiple maps.
