Dead by Daylight Update 8.3.2 Reverts Skull Merchant Speeds and Nerfs Perks
Dead by Daylight patch 8.3.2 reverts Skull Merchant's basekit speed, adjusts several Killer and Survivor perks, and re-enables Flashbangs and Firecrackers. The update also rolls out extensive bug fixes for characters, maps, and the Haunted by Daylight event.
Dead by Daylight patch 8.3.2 arrives with adjustments to the Skull Merchant, multiple perk balancing passes, and the re-enablement of Flashbangs and Firecrackers. The update also delivers a large wave of bug fixes addressing character interactions, map anomalies, and issues tied to the Haunted by Daylight event.
Skull Merchant Basekit Reverted and Perk Adjustments
The Skull Merchant's movement speed while inspecting her radar is reverted to 4.6 m/s. She now sees scan lines from her drones at all times and can view the aura of scan lines within 32 meters of drones while inspecting her radar. Several perks also see adjustments. Machine Learning decreases its active effect duration to 35, 40, and 45 seconds depending on tier. Predator reduces its aura reveal duration to 4 seconds, and Zanshin Tactics drops its reveal duration to 3, 4, and 5 seconds. On the Survivor side, Distortion now requires 15 seconds in chase to regain a token. Inner Focus triggers exclusively from health state losses caused by the Killer, and We're Gonna Live Forever reverts its heal speed increase back to 100%.
Haunted by Daylight Event and Items
Flashbang perks and Firecracker items are officially re-enabled in the game. Level 2 of the Haunted by Daylight event tome opened on October 24, with Level 3 scheduled to open on October 31. Bloodpoint values for several event scoring events have also been increased. Fixes for the event resolve issues where Killers could unleash a Captured Haunt and perform a basic attack too quickly, Void Empowered trackers failed to update correctly after picking up a Haunt, and the Blighted Serum add-on broke the Blight's power.
Character and Map Bug Fixes
A wide assortment of character bugs are squashed in this patch. The Good Guy's Scamper ability no longer bypasses the 90-degree camera lock, and Hidey-Ho Mode avoids going on cooldown if Slice and Dice is still being charged or used. The Knight can no longer kick generators while setting a path for a guard, and the Dark Lord's Hellfire cooldown is fixed when using specific add-on combinations. Map fixes remove duplicate breakable walls inside the Asylum on Disturbed Ward and the main building on Coal Tower, while also resolving issues with Nurse blinking on top of rocks and getting stuck in structures on Nostromo.
Technical and Platform Fixes
Platform stability updates address a crash linked to EAC shutdown and fix an issue that allowed family-shared DLC on Steam to function on other platforms with cross-progressed accounts. General optimizations resolve missing sound effects across tutorials, hook phase transitions, and the Dark Lord's Hellfire charge. A persistent bug causing client crashes when the Killer is blinded by a Flashbang or Firecracker at the end of a mori has been resolved.
Why this patch matters
Patch 8.3.2 dials back the Skull Merchant's recent changes while applying measured nerfs to several popular perks and clearing out a massive backlog of technical bugs.
