Dead by Daylight Update 8.2.2 Adjusts Killer Balance and Fixes Map Exploits

Dead by Daylight update 8.2.2 adjusts character pricing, buffs specific killers like The Nemesis and The Dark Lord, and resolves numerous map collision and audio bugs. The patch also lowers the cost of eight original characters and the Maddening Darkness DLC pack.

Behaviour Interactive has released Dead by Daylight update 8.2.2, bringing targeted balance adjustments to killers, significant price reductions for several original characters, and a comprehensive wave of bug fixes across multiple maps.

Killer Balance and Adjustments

The Nemesis receives a fix to the Licker Tongue add-on, making survivors Hindered for an extra 1 second after contamination to match intended values. The Dark Lord sees multiple buffs: bat form movement speed increases to 6.5 m/s, teleport speed rises to 12.0 m/s, and shapeshift cooldown drops to 2.5 seconds. The Magical Ticket add-on is reduced to 10% to compensate for faster teleports.

Character and Perk Fixes

Audio issues are resolved, including missing idle sounds for The Dredge, a missing Halloween theme for Michael Myers, and silent flame pillar charging for The Dark Lord from the survivor perspective. Trickster facial animations in the lobby are restored, and the Fire Up perk now correctly gains tokens when a bot completes a generator.

Environment and Collision Cleanups

Map exploits and collision bugs are addressed across several realms. The Dredge no longer gets stuck in Family Residence lockers, and the Nurse can no longer blink on top of stone pillars in Toba Landing or underneath the Main Building in Nostromo Wreckage. Visibility issues involving fog in the Toba Landing basement are cleared up, and an interaction bug on a Decimated Borgo window is fixed.

Character Pricing Changes

Starting September 12th, the pricing for Ace Visconti, Feng Min, Kate Denson, Adam Francis, The Hag, The Doctor, The Clown, and The Spirit drops to 125 AC or $1.25 USD. The Maddening Darkness DLC Pack price is reduced to $9.99 USD.

Why this patch matters

Update 8.2.2 delivers meaningful buffs to underperforming killer mechanics while clearing out a massive backlog of map geometry exploits and audio bugs.
