Dead by Daylight Update 8.2.1 Fixes Perks, Audio, and Maps

Dead by Daylight patch 8.2.1 fixes persistent audio bugs with Iron Will, resolves several perk interactions involving Exultation and Human Greed, and sets dates for upcoming modifiers.

Behavior Interactive has released update 8.2.1 for Dead by Daylight, addressing a broad mix of audio bugs, perk interactions, map geometry issues, and UI quirks while scheduling upcoming in-game events.

Perk and Item Adjustments

The patch resolves an issue where Survivor chest perks gained tokens when players briefly interacted with containers previously closed by Human Greed. Exultation no longer triggers Weave Attunement when stunning the Killer, and White Ward offerings now correctly protect add-ons when a Survivor is sacrificed with an upgraded item from Exultation. Additionally, Moment of Glory activates properly after the Broken status effect ends from Deliverance or For The People.

Audio and Character Fixes

Iron Will now correctly suppresses the final grunt when self-healing. Audio tracks that start alongside character spawns, such as theme music, play properly again. Character fixes include correcting the Lich's pelvic rotation relative to the red stain, fixing Hand of Vecna alignment during specific animations, and restoring the proper camera distance when the Dark Lord switches forms.

Map and Collision Fixes

Exploits and movement bugs on several maps have been patched. The Nurse can no longer blink on top of a rock on the Nostromo map, under the Spaceship, or on a rock pillar near the main building on Toba Landing. Collision errors on Raccoon City Police Station stairs, item placement restrictions on Azarov's Resting Place, and navigation blocks around garbage assets in Badham Preschool are also fixed.

Events and UI Updates

The Lights Out: Castlevania modifier runs from September 12 to September 24, introducing a Candelabra item and an event tome. Chaos Shuffle returns on September 24. Interface fixes include correcting cross-play friend request settings, ensuring rift tiers display all three digits when reaching 100 or higher, and restoring usernames to the penalized user list.

Why this patch matters

Update 8.2.1 delivers necessary housekeeping for Dead by Daylight, cleaning up stubborn perk contradictions and map exploits ahead of the Castlevania event.
