Wild Life Development Update Overhauls Apoc and Combat Systems
Wild Life's latest development update details a complete redesign of the Apoc settlement, combat camera improvements, and the introduction of a functional trader UI. The patch also brings new combat animations and AI behaviors to story mode.
The development update for Wild Life outlines changes across level design, combat systems, character outfits, and animation pipelines. The team has concentrated on integrating the new combat framework into story mode while refining locations on the island.
Level Design and World
The Apoc settlement is fully overhauled to reflect its origins as a Lizard settlement, complete with occupation by Kerpal outlaws. The landscape surrounding the mountain range separating the desert from fertile regions has received visual updates, alongside refined canyon areas and finished Alpha Camp building meshes.
Combat and Economy
Combat mechanics receive stability improvements with better camera behavior and predictable movement when locked onto targets. Human combat AI is more challenging, and new moves like kicking and fist-fighting are implemented alongside Blackwing behaviors. The first iteration of the Trader UI allows players to buy items at a markup and sell gear with a session buyback option.
Characters and Animation
The female Wildfire armor is rigged for characters including Maya, Jenny, Kim, Aoi, Shey, Jadeen, and Shiva. Characters are increasingly combat-ready with new upper-body weapon stances and unarmed fist-fighting animations. Feral boar animations are finished, while work continues on the feral bull enemy.
