Wild Life Development Update Introduces Armor, Upgrades, and NPC Trading
Wild Life's latest progress report details newly implemented armor systems, weapon enhancement NPCs, dynamic merchant trading, and quick slot features.
The latest development update for Wild Life outlines several core gameplay systems moving from design to implementation. Players can expect new armor mechanics, weapon upgrade paths, and dynamic trader networks across Kerpal.
Armor and Item Enhancements
Armor and weapon enhancement features are now implemented. Armor utilizes the outfit system across five separate slots for the head, chest, hands, legs, and feet, with stats combining for a total armor rating. Players can visit specific NPCs to upgrade weapons and armor using items and currency. Quick slots and the radial menu now support fast equipping and unequipping of these items.
Dynamic Trader Networks
Trading systems are finalized, featuring discoverable NPCs throughout Kerpal who buy and sell goods. Merchants specialize based on their professions, such as herbalists selling potions and smiths offering equipment. Buy and sell prices vary and adjust through quests, while trader inventories evolve as chapters progress.
Level Design and Character Animation
Level design work continues on Alpha Camp collision models and color concepts, alongside detailed interior and exterior house designs for the Sky Village. The Feral Lion model is finished and awaiting rigging and fur implementation, while animators are polishing the Blackwing enemy and crafting new animation sequences.
