Wild Life Development Update Details World and AI Changes
Wild Life's latest development update details level art passes in Apoc Canyon, character customization expansions, lizard AI combat adjustments, and new minigames.
Wild Life outlines ongoing production across world design, bug fixes, and character features in its latest progress report. The update details environment dressing passes, expanded sandbox options, and custom combat AIs for lizard enemies.
World Design and Quests
Level artists started set dressing passes in Apoc Canyon and Grassland regions, improving cliff-to-ground transitions, riverbeds, and landscape painting. Level designers added content to Apoc Canyon, populated the area with bandits and camps, and gave them routine behaviors. In Alpha Camp, developers implemented the Max and Shey rooftop date minigame, worked on the Garden Hill pig gang questline, and began implementing Arena Champions to unlock weapon perks.
Character Customization and Assets
The sandbox character customization screen now includes options for Skin Normal Strength, Skin Specular, Hair Roughness, Hair Metallic, Teeth Color, Tongue Color, and Eyebrow Highlight. Normal materials can now use the texture randomness option previously restricted to Voxel materials. Low-resolution NPC models with lighter skeletons were built for world population, and concept art for a Sandshark scale armor set for Maya was finished.
Combat and Coding
Lizard enemies received custom combat AIs and slight number-balancing. Code updates removed loading screens during cutscenes, resolved save game issues, and improved Shey's melee tutorial sequence. Animations now include Kim making medicine in the tutorial and a special attack for Maya's legendary sword.
