Wild Life Development Update Details Level Blockouts and Save Menu Changes

The latest Wild Life progress report covers ongoing work on the Alpha Camp A-blockout, save game scene preview icons, and interactive sandbox tutorials. The update also outlines progress on NPC outfits and weapon animations.

Wild Life developers have detailed their latest round of progress across level design, code implementation, character models, and animation systems.

Levels and Environment

Work on the Alpha Camp A-blockout continues with the import of the next iteration of Alpha Camp buildings, featuring increased detail and initial prop placement. Landscape adjustments are underway to remove awkward angles and bumps, smoothing out navigation for players and NPCs.

Code and Tutorials

The save game menu now supports preview icons for scenes, updating automatically with each save unless a fixed image is chosen. Development has also started on an in-game sandbox tutorial system featuring interactive sequences that guide players through setting up events, such as connecting buttons to lights.

Characters and Animation

Story-mode outfit transfers are nearing completion to ensure NPCs wear designated clothing, with sandbox outfit work proceeding in parallel. The feral lion model is receiving visual iterations. In the animation department, move sets for the stun mace and heavy wrench are finished and handed over to game designers for timing and parry adjustments, while work on the Arac spider enemy move set has begun.
