Wild Life Development Update Details Combat Design and Character Animation
The latest Wild Life development update highlights ongoing progress on level design, camera filter shaders, and character outfits. The team is also integrating Feral Bull combat animations and planning new character progression perks.
The Wild Life development team shared its mid-January progress report, detailing environment assets, sandbox tools, and character animation progress.
World Building and Level Design
Level work centered on wrapping up the final cave and advancing A-quality blockout tasks for Adûn. Asset creation for Alpha Camp props finished, while technical artists built tools to accelerate world population of props and foliage.
Sandbox Coding and Character Work
Sandbox camera filters gained support for pre-made post-process shaders like Outline, CRT, Night Vision, and Halftone. Image Decal props now accept custom materials containing normal, roughness, metallic, and emission data. Character artists started building a modern casual outfit with a shirt, jeans, and sneakers while updating three hairstyles.
Animations and Combat Design
Feral Bull enemy animations moved into the engine for combat AI tuning and movement adjustments. Work persisted on dagger and claw weapon movesets, campfire minigames, and motion capture data integration for story cutscenes. Design staff also planned out character progression attributes, perk systems, and finisher moves.
Why this patch matters
This progress report shows steady technical and artistic expansion across Wild Life's world, combat systems, and sandbox tools.
