Wild Life Development Update Details Combat Adjustments and New Collectibles

Wild Life's development update introduces aiming behavior for the combat system, twenty collectible plants, and expanded Lua prop tools. The team is also working on male character armor blockouts and a quest featuring Iljah de la Gourmand.

Wild Life's progress report outlines ongoing development across world landscapes, combat systems, and sandbox features. The update details aiming mechanics, material gathering systems, and upcoming quests.

Combat and Sandbox Improvements

Developers implemented aiming behavior for the new combat system, matching the feel of the old system while incorporating minor tweaks. The sandbox side gains an in-game tutorial for Lights, along with animation sequence support for bone controllers. UI elements receive font size options for int, float, and text fields, user tooltips, and a 9-slice option for image props. Additional Lua functions and event receivers allow developers to open the code editor, toggle edit mode, and check character outfits.

World Building and Collectibles

Landscape work continues around Pearl Village, Grassland, and the Pillar Region ahead of a terrain detail pass. Twenty new collectible plants are distributed across biomes, serving as basic cooking ingredients, high-value trade delicacies, or rare alchemy components like the Fury Blossom. Players can gather materials from world objects and enemies to upgrade weapons and armor through specific NPCs, such as tinkerers for plasma rifles, smiths for melee weapons, and tailors for non-combat garments.

Characters and Quests

High-poly sculpting and blockouts for the male character's armor outfit are complete, with retopology and texturing up next. Animation work on the Maya and Inola minigame continues. Design work has started on a new quest for Max involving Iljah de la Gourmand, a galactic gourmet NPC who gets into trouble while experiencing universal cuisine.
