War Thunder Update v2.59.0.59 Fixes SAM Targeting and Aircraft Turrets
War Thunder update v2.59.0.59 resolves missile tracking issues over water, fixes Japanese flying boat wing turrets, and stops ray-traced shadow flickering on planes. S-75 and HAWK systems now shut down radars when targeted by anti-radiation missiles.
War Thunder update v2.59.0.59 introduces targeted bug fixes for air and ground combat. The patch addresses SAM engagement geometry, radar self-preservation behavior, and visual artifacts on aircraft.
Surface-to-Air Missile Fixes
SAM systems positioned on high ground now correctly engage targets flying over water at altitudes lower than the launcher site. Target prioritization logic has also been adjusted to stop assigning low priority to valid threats. Furthermore, S-75 and HAWK systems automatically shut down their search and tracking radars when medium- to long-range anti-radiation missiles threaten them.
Aircraft and Graphics Adjustments
The H8K2 and H8K3 flying boats have received a fix for an issue that prevented their wing-root turrets from firing. Additionally, a bug causing ray-traced shadows to flicker across aircraft models has been resolved.
Why this patch matters
This update cleans up specific combat edge cases, improving SAM reliability against low-altitude targets and restoring firepower to Japanese flying boats.
