War Thunder Update v2.45.1.31 Balances Rates of Fire and Fixes Physics Bugs
War Thunder's latest update adjusts combat vehicle rates of fire, fixes tank sliding on slopes, and resolves HUD errors for aircraft.
War Thunder update v2.45.1.31 arrives with targeted adjustments to vehicle performance, map fixes, and corrections for recurring HUD and audio glitches.
Ground Vehicle Fire Rates and Physics
Several ground vehicles receive major weapon adjustments. The A7V and Beutepanzer IV have their rate of fire reduced from 19.8 to 15 rounds per minute, and the A7V's crew platform material changes from rolled homogeneous armor to structural steel. Conversely, the Garford variants and St-Chamond now fire at 15 rounds per minute. The St-Chamond also gains a higher initial armor-piercing shell velocity of 570 m/s up from 470 m/s. Additionally, the Garford recoil force is reduced to limit vehicle bouncing, and the Great War Garford variants receive general cross-country mobility improvements. The Beutepanzer IV and Mark V (Male) tanks no longer slide excessively on slopes, and a bug causing them to fire shells from the opposite side rack has been resolved.
Aircraft HUD and Visual Corrections
For air vehicles, the Su-30SM no longer loses target type recognition data on the HUD when a captured target exits the screen bounds. Sea Harrier models FRS.1, FRS.1 (e), and FA 2 can now successfully switch HUD modes while landing gear is down. The AD-2, AD-4 variants, and A-1H aircraft now sink properly in water. Graphical fixes eliminate aircraft ghosting trails against cloud backgrounds and tone down overly dark shadows in the Battle of Jutland scenario.
Interface and Audio Updates
Tank gun depression angles now display decimal fractions of a degree, resolving discrepancies between X-ray views and stat cards. Sound corrections address incorrect engine audio for the H.P.12 and faulty engine and machine gun sounds on the Fokker D.VII and SPAD S.XIII. In the skies, zeppelins will no longer vanish without an explosion and benefit from increased durability.
Why this patch matters
This update makes necessary mechanical corrections to early-era ground units and cleans up lingering HUD errors for aircraft.
