War Thunder Update v2.43.0.86 Clears Up Aircraft Sights and Map Rotations
War Thunder's latest update addresses stubborn aircraft cockpit bugs, corrects voice announcer errors, and pulls poorly paced coastal missions from rotation. Players can also expect smoother water boundaries and reliable market camouflage rendering.
Gaijin Entertainment has rolled out update v2.43.0.86 for War Thunder, tackling a handful of persistent physics, audio, and visual issues across planes, ground vehicles, and maps. The patch removes specific coastal missions that suffered from poor spawn placement and resolves several long-standing equipment interaction errors.
Aircraft and Combat Fixes
Gyro sights that were turned off no longer shift incorrectly when the player moves the camera inside the cockpit. A bug where missile launch trails occasionally bled over into separate battles on different aircraft has been resolved. Collisions with friendly AI aircraft now properly damage the player vehicle instead of passing through harmlessly. The bomb bay interface no longer locks up when opening the bay and subsequently selecting external hardpoint bombs. Furthermore, helicopter rotor blades and fuselages now accurately interact with incoming bombs, taking damage and stopping ordnance rather than deflecting or swallowing it. The voice announcer has also been corrected to state the actual direction of the currently fired missile instead of repeating the trajectory of the previously launched projectile.
Ground Vehicles and Naval Adjustments
Tank crews will no longer mistakenly call out missed shots when an APFSDS shell's armor-penetrating component hits its mark while the discarded sabot flies past the target. Players are no longer able to attach tow cables to enemy vehicles that are still alive following a second respawn. For naval vessels, the Arkhangelsk now correctly displays reload time indicators for its final two guns.
Location and Interface Updates
Water visuals near shorelines have been updated to smooth out the harsh visual boundary between calm and turbulent currents. Coastal-only missions on Green Mountains Gulf and Palau Islands have been removed from the rotation across all game modes due to excessive transit times averaging four minutes from spawn points to the first capture point. Gaijin stated these maps will be reworked and reintroduced later. Additionally, a bug preventing Market camouflages from displaying to other players despite having the proper game settings enabled has been fixed.
Why this patch matters
Update v2.43.0.86 delivers necessary cleanup for vehicle collision detection and audio cues while cutting frustratingly slow map variants from rotation.
