War Thunder Update 2.45.0.22 Adjusts Aircraft Overheating and Spawn Costs

War Thunder update 2.45.0.22 adjusts the Westland Wyvern S.4 engine parameters to improve survivability under heat stress. The patch also increases spawn point costs for aircraft equipped with infrared-seeking air-to-surface missiles in Ground Realistic and Simulator battles.

Gaijin Entertainment has released update 2.45.0.22 for War Thunder, bringing targeted adjustments to aircraft survivability and ground battle deployment costs. The latest patch alters how specific planes handle heat and increases the entry barrier for high-end munitions in mixed battles.

Aircraft Engine Adjustments

The Westland Wyvern S.4 receives direct changes to its overheating parameters. The update increases the duration required for the engine to overheat and improves overall survivability when operating under high heat conditions, drawing on pilot notes for the aircraft.

Ground Battles Spawn Cost Increases

The spawn point cost for deploying aircraft equipped with infrared-seeking air-to-surface missiles increases by 8 percent in Ground Realistic Battles. For example, maximum spawn costs rise from 896 to 972 SP in Ground Realistic Battles, and from 498 to 540 SP in Ground Simulator Battles. This adjustment applies to loadouts such as the Kh-38MT on the Su-30SM and the AASM 250 (SBU 64) on the Rafale C F3.

Interface Bug Fixes

A minor interface issue that caused the crew window to switch automatically to the aircraft tab when players applied changes to ground or naval crew skills training has been resolved.

Why this patch matters

Update 2.45.0.22 implements a straightforward buff to the Wyvern S.4 while making high-end CAS options slightly harder to field in ground matches.
