War Thunder Update 2.45.0.18 Patch Notes

War Thunder Update 2.45.0.18 resolves physical behaviors for the F/A-18, adjusts missile hardpoints for the Su-30SM, and removes the Afghanistan mission for a replacement. The patch also fixes HUD markers, nuclear button display issues, and visibility quirks.

Gaijin Entertainment has released War Thunder update v2.45.0.18, addressing community bug reports related to aircraft physics, interface displays, and weapon systems.

Aircraft and Weapon Adjustments

All variants of the F/A-18 now sink correctly in water. The F/A-18C Late no longer requires a double key press to turn off thermals after changing NVG modes. The Su-30SM moves default R-77-1 missile hardpoints from columns 5 and 8 to 2 and 11, allowing players to combine guided weapons earlier. Sea Harrier air-to-air missiles now select properly when switching to the AAM HUD mode, and missile launch distance indicators on Su-27, Su-30SM, Su-33, J-11, and J-11A aircraft are now thinner.

Interface and Visual Fixes

Ground Realistic Battles players will now see the nuke button appear in the hotbar once they reach the required spawn points. Protection Analysis shell stat cards now display penetration values in correct angle order. Aircraft visibility against cloud backgrounds has been improved, and the XM246 tracking and search radars now correctly reflect vertical guidance and folding animations in X-ray view.

Mission and Control Updates

The original Afghanistan mission has been disabled and replaced with a new version tied to the Hornet's Sting update. A control bug where assigning a single key to both Optical Seeker View and Targeting Optics View caused the wrong camera to activate on single-optic aircraft has been resolved.

Why this patch matters

Update 2.45.0.18 delivers targeted fixes for modern aircraft avionics, radar displays, and interface visibility issues.
