War Thunder Transitioning to BattlEye Anti-Cheat System
War Thunder is integrating the BattlEye anti-cheat system across its client in waves over the coming weeks, replacing the existing software with server and client-side protection.
Gaijin Entertainment is replacing its current security measures with the BattlEye anti-cheat system in War Thunder. The transition rolls out in waves over the next few weeks, operating on both the client and server sides to monitor game processes and block prohibited modifications at launch.
Rollout and Compatibility
The switch happens automatically when launching the game, during which a device may take a brief moment to process the replacement. Both anti-cheat systems temporarily run concurrently during the transition period before the game fully switches to BattlEye exclusively. Sound modifications continue to function normally under the new system.
Performance Impact
Developers confirm that the BattlEye integration should not affect in-game frame rates. Because the software only runs while the War Thunder client is active, it does not impact system performance for other background tasks.
Why this patch matters
The move to BattlEye standardizes security with other Gaijin titles like Enlisted, aiming to curb prohibited modifications without impacting game performance or sound mods.
