War Thunder Server Update Adjusts Helicopter Damage and Ground Vehicle Mechanics

The latest server update for War Thunder brings survival buffs for older helicopters alongside steering and crew-swap bug fixes for specific armored ground vehicles.

A new server update for War Thunder targets helicopter survivability models and resolves steering and crew issues affecting several armored ground vehicles. These adjustments address community bug reports and adjust damage tolerances across multiple vehicle classes.

Helicopter Damage Model Adjustments

Helicopters lacking specific new avionic modules now feature reduced chances of avionic failure after taking fuselage hits. Avionics remain undamaged by high-explosive impacts from ammunition below 23 mm and kinetic impacts below 25 mm, with exceptions for radio-fuzed shells and air-to-air missiles. Single fuselage impacts from ammunition under 30 mm no longer disable all onboard helicopter avionics simultaneously.

Ground Vehicle Bug Fixes

Several ground vehicles receive targeted fixes to resolve functional bugs. The AB 43, Sd.Kfz.234/2, its TD variant, and the Sd.Kfz.234/3 no longer suffer from a crew-swapping bug that left them without a driver. A bug preventing spot-turning has been resolved for the M48A1, M103, Magach 3 with ERA, M48A2 C, M48A2 G A2, Magach 1, and Magach 2.

Why this patch matters

This server update provides quality-of-life relief for players fielding specific older helicopters and ground vehicles, targeting structural bugs highlighted by the community.
