Spiral Up Games has released the Echoes of Ash and Dust update for Wandering Sword after six months of development. The patch delivers the conclusion to the main storyline, Steam achievements, an inheritance system, and quality-of-life features such as a battlefield surrender option.
New Storylines and Quests
The narrative concludes with new branching storylines centered on Xiao Hanguang of the TianJian Sect challenging the Shaolin Temple, pulling protagonist Yuwen Yi into the conflict. Players can continue from existing save files, though the developers recommend using a save from the Main Quest: Return to Wudang for the optimal experience, or downloading an official progress save.
Steam Achievements and Inheritance System
Steam achievements are now active and unlock automatically based on existing progress, though saves prior to the Southern Chronicles version may not trigger retroactive unlocks. A new inheritance library allows players to select additional expansions in Extreme difficulty that increase difficulty scores by 0.2 upon completion, alongside an inheritance page unlocked by finishing the game on hard or extreme modes.
