Valor Mortis First Update Brings Crash Fixes and Progression Blocker Resolutions
Valor Mortis receives its first update, fixing common cross-platform crashes, resolving key progression blockers on Chapters 4, 5, and 12, and introducing GPU driver detection to aid performance.
The first update for Valor Mortis arrives with targeted fixes for stability issues, progression blocks, and common crashes across platforms. Developers have deployed automated warnings for outdated graphics drivers and resolved critical bugs halting progress in later chapters.
Stability and Performance
The patch addresses several of the most frequently reported crashes across all platforms. An automated pop-up notification now alerts players running outdated graphics drivers, which has proven to be a primary driver of performance and stability issues. Additionally, error logging has been reduced to eliminate minor performance hits in rare instances.
Progression and Quest Fixes
Critical progression stoppers are now resolved. Chapter 4 no longer fails to save progress correctly after the post-boss cutsequence, and Chapter 12 progression blockers tied to cutscenes and lanterns are fixed. Players will also find that the Chapter 5 sidequest “In the Name of Art” starts and progresses as intended without locking up.
Gameplay Adjustments
A specific enemy behavior bug affecting Volunteer units has been corrected. These enemies no longer stop attacking entirely if they are backstabbed while on patrol, restoring their intended combat responses.
Why this patch matters
This initial patch tackles critical infrastructure problems and game-breaking blockers, providing a much-needed baseline of stability for early players.
