Valheim Public Test Patch 0.219.13 Tweaks Bog Witch Items and Fixes Rain Damage
Valheim Public Test patch 0.219.13 fixes build pieces taking rain damage, updates the Bog Witch scythe handle unlock requirement to Moder, and adjusts several mead recipes.
Valheim's latest Public Test branch update brings balance tweaks and bug fixes for the Bog Witch update, adjusting consumables, progression triggers, and building integrity.
Bog Witch Progression and Crafting Adjustments
The checkpoint for purchasing the scythe handle from the Bog Witch has been moved from after defeating Yagluth to after killing Moder. Mead recipes receive adjustments: Lightfoot Mead now requires 2 scale hides instead of a hare trophy, and 5 feathers instead of 10. The Draught of Vananidir now modifies stamina by 50% instead of 80%. Additionally, Kvastur no longer spawns an identical twin at the Bog Witch's hut, and his trophy overlap issues are resolved.
Building and Environment Fixes
Build pieces under roof cover no longer take damage from water. This fix is not retroactive, meaning players with large bases damaged during the previous public test must manually repair structures or restore a pre-update world backup. Smoke emitters like fireplaces no longer repeatedly turn themselves off and on.
Consumables, UI, and Controls
Cloudberries, onions, cooked eggs, fire resistance barley wine, tasty mead, and mushrooms now trigger correct sound and visual effects when consumed. The Food Preparation Table and Mead Ketill properly apply cooking skill effects. Active status effects now display in rows of seven. Weapon visibility toggles are rebindable once more, and gamepad navigation, right-stick sensitivity, and slider speedup behaviors are corrected.
Why this patch matters
Patch 0.219.13 smooths out the Bog Witch update by addressing base degradation bugs, fixing crafting costs, and shifting key progression milestones.
