Valheim Public Test Patch 0.218.20 Adjusts Ashlands Flametal Spires and Enemy Spawns
Valheim's latest Public Test patch 0.218.20 modifies Ashlands flametal spires, adjusts enemy spawn rates, and fixes critical multiplayer network corruption issues.
Iron Gate has released Valheim patch 0.218.20 on the Public Test branch. The update focuses on Ashlands balancing, targeting flametal spires and enemy spawn parameters.
Ashlands Flametal Spires
Flametal spires now have a low chance to start sinking. Players no longer get stuck in a falling animation on top of them, and the ore drop rate shifts from 3 to 4 pieces per chunk down to 2 to 4. Flametal ore also plays the correct sound effect when mined.
Enemy Spawns and Balancing
Spawn amounts for Asksvin are reduced, while spawn chances for Twitchers, Charred Archers, and Charred Melees receive adjustments. Lava damage scaling is tweaked with a slightly higher damage threshold, and damage taken scales based on how deep a player ventures into the lava.
Critical Bug Fixes
The patch resolves a root cause for permanent network object corruption that caused slow player base loading in multiplayer, structural stability issues over time, random non-tamable enemies becoming tamed, and tamed animals dying unexpectedly. Cooking stations also receive fixes, allowing hare meat on the wooden station and requiring the iron station for Asksvin and Volture meat.
Why this patch matters
Patch 0.218.20 provides tuning for Ashlands resource gathering while tackling stability bugs.
