THE FINALS Update 5.9.0 Patch Notes
THE FINALS update 5.9.0 adjusts the Dagger and KS-23 weapons, and outlines an upcoming shift to a three-week balance cadence.
Embark Studios has released update 5.9.0 for THE FINALS, introducing targeted weapon tweaks alongside an announcement regarding a more frequent balance update schedule starting in Season 6.
Balance Schedule Changes
Developers state that the current balance cadence feels slow. Moving into Season 6, the game will shift to a roughly three-week balance update schedule to allow for more consistent refinements, with smaller interim updates arriving throughout the rest of Season 5.
Weapon Adjustments
The Dagger secondary attack backstab angle is narrowed from 180 degrees down to 150 degrees to reduce accidental side backstabs. The KS-23 receives a minimum damage falloff multiplier increase from 0.6 to 0.7 for better long-range performance, alongside decreased bullet dispersion while aiming down sights across various stances.
Why this patch matters
Update 5.9.0 provides minor tweaks to the Dagger and KS-23 while establishing a quicker rhythm for future balance passes.
