THE FINALS Update 4.8.0 Patch Notes: Gas Canister Fixes and Flashbang Options
Update 4.8.0 for THE FINALS introduces screen blackout options for flashbangs, fixes gas canister physics bugs, and refines arena destruction.
THE FINALS Update 4.8.0 arrives with technical adjustments, cashout indicator updates, and new accessibility options for visual effects.
Gameplay and Physics Adjustments
A critical bug that turned leaking gas canisters into protective shields when picked up has been resolved. Gamemode objects such as cashboxes and transfer stations will no longer bounce up and down when registering as out of bounds.
Map and Arena Fixes
On Monaco, a park shed exploit that allowed cashboxes to fall out of bounds is fixed. Kyoto's fractured wall destruction is updated to break into larger chunks to match other maps, and objective spawns have returned to moving platforms and elevators across Kyoto, Seoul, and Skyway Stadium.
Interface and Accessibility
Players can now toggle an accessibility setting that replaces standard flashbang whiteouts with blackouts. Additional UI updates include hiding gameplay UI in settings, correcting damage log readouts for explosions, and fixing character model stretching on aspect ratios narrower than 16:9.
Contracts and Audio
The contract for interrupting steals now properly rewards players. Additionally, a potential fix is implemented for audio issues that caused weapon sounds to loop or cut out entirely.
Why this patch matters
Update 4.8.0 cleans up frustrating physics exploits and contract tracking errors while adding helpful quality-of-life settings for competitive play.
