THE FINALS Update 3.12.0 Adds Bonus XP Matsuri and Adjusts Tournaments
THE FINALS update 3.12.0 launches the Bonus XP Matsuri event to accelerate Battle Pass progression, removes the Defender bonus in final rounds, and introduces an Underdog respawn bonus.
Embark Studios has deployed update 3.12.0 for THE FINALS, introducing the Bonus XP Matsuri event alongside competitive adjustments for tournament final rounds and various bug fixes.
Bonus XP Matsuri and Progression
Running until the end of the season, the Bonus XP Matsuri event increases baseline match XP and doubles the rewards obtained from Daily Contracts to help players finish the Battle Pass. The update also rewards participants of the community challenge with the ISEUL-T Reality Check Frag Grenade skin added directly to inventories.
Competitive Balance
In World Tour and Tournament modes, the Defender bonus that granted defending teams quicker individual respawn times in the final round has been removed. To balance matches where players drop out, an Underdog bonus reduces individual and squad respawn timers to 20 seconds when one or more teammates disconnect.
Gadgets, Animation, and UI
Defibrillator revives are no longer blocked by friendly Mesh and Dome shields. Grenade throw animations now continue playing during high vaulting, and melee aim assist resets correctly when restoring default settings. Text chat and event logs are now visible during round endings, and the SR-84 is correctly labeled as a Marksman Rifle.
Stability and Performance
Startup times from application launch to the main menu have been improved. Animation performance work has also been implemented to deliver smoother overall frame rates during matches.
