TerraScape 1.2 TIDE Update Brings Card Trading and Water Overhauls
TerraScape update 1.2 TIDE introduces card trading via a visiting merchant, deep water visual upgrades, and Unity 6 performance improvements. The patch also adds new scenarios, puzzles, and specialized building complexes.
The TIDE update arrives in TerraScape, overhauling oceanic gameplay and adding a merchant system for card exchanges. Powered by an upgrade to the Unity 6 engine, the patch also introduces fresh scenarios and technical optimizations.
Merchant and Card Trading
A merchant boat now visits your island to offer new trade options. Players can exchange unwanted or excess cards for buildings they currently need. Standard deck draws can now also be rerolled using diamonds.
Water Biomes and Ocean Resources
Seas and lakes feature completely reworked visuals from the seabed up, making ocean resources significantly easier to spot. These changes add depth to marine management, though they also require more careful planning for fishing fleets.
Engine Upgrade and Performance
The game now runs on the Unity 6 engine. This migration delivers faster game starts, improved loading times, and smoother performance handling across all biomes.
Scenarios, Puzzles, and Quests
Three new scenarios and five wetland-focused puzzle-terras join the rotation. Quest tracking now counts previously built structures retroactively, and the quest user interface receives a visual and layout overhaul for improved readability.
New Buildings and Resources
The update introduces specialized structures and complexes, including the first river-utilizing complex, alongside unique new resources that alter island layouts and strategies.
Why this patch matters
The TIDE update modernizes TerraScape with essential trading mechanics and engine optimizations, giving players better control over randomness while expanding puzzle content.
