Tenebris Somnia Demo v0.4 Adjusts Combat and UI

Tenebris Somnia receives demo version 0.4 ahead of Steam Next Fest 2025. The update speeds up wrench and revolver combat, alters sanity drains, and updates cinematics.

Tenebris Somnia developer updates the Steam demo to version 0.4 for Steam Next Fest 2025. The patch incorporates player feedback to overhaul combat timings, enemy aggression, and interface clarity.

Combat Adjustments

Julia's wrench attack is now faster. The revolver deals more damage, fires at an increased speed, and applies random knockback based on distance. Enemy ranged attacks are slower and only trigger after taking knockback. Two new close-range attacks are added, including a quick strike used when Julia moves too frequently. Impact sounds for blinking are removed, and enemy audio now pauses when the game pauses.

Inventory, Sanity, and Environment

Consuming Labendoleum now grants less sanity. Interaction requirements are stricter, requiring the player to face objects directly. The second-floor TV now emits constant static to prompt interaction, the Ivan picture is changed, and camera angles are widened. The language option is removed from the in-game menu.

Interface and Cinematics

Character names now appear during dialogue alongside colored portrait frames, and the health portrait includes more sanity states. Cinematics feature visual and audio improvements, new shots, and an added sequence featuring character Iván. Text translations in English and Spanish receive widespread adjustments.

Why this patch matters

Version 0.4 sharpens the demo's combat pace and smooths out interface readability, making the survival horror mechanics feel more responsive.
