Team Fortress 2 Update Adjusts Zombie Infection and Mann vs. Machine Mode

Team Fortress 2 receives an update modifying Zombie Infection balance, updating Mann vs. Machine upgrade refunds, and fixing sound and collision issues.

Team Fortress 2 deploys a sweeping update targeting Zombie Infection mode balance, Mann vs. Machine upgrade mechanics, and general bug fixes across multiple maps.

Zombie Infection Balancing

Zombie Heavy health increases to 525, up from 450, and the class is no longer immune to critical hits. Zombie Pyro health rises to 250 from 175, and the class now drops a medium health kit upon death. Sniper Spit Pool damage no longer stacks when standing in multiple zones, and the pool's damage against survivors no longer exceeds intended levels.

Survivor Adjustments

Crossbow weapons no longer apply a flat damage multiplier against zombies. The B.A.S.E Jumper cannot be deployed if the player is among the last three survivors, and Jumper weapons no longer store reserve ammunition.

Mann vs. Machine Upgrades and Fixes

A custom refund system is implemented to address upgrade inconsistencies across rounds. Checks are reapplied to verify if players are actively buying upgrades at stations. Sniper and demo shields now clear their upgrades properly, and canteens clear their values when refunded while unequipped.

General and Map Fixes

All Zombie Infection sound effects are re-encoded as .WAV files to resolve console errors and playback issues. Multiple community maps, including cp_freaky_fair and zi_murky, receive logic updates, collision adjustments, and expanded spawn triggers.

Why this patch matters

This TF2 update shores up the Zombie Infection ruleset, refines upgrade refund logic in Mann vs. Machine, and corrects map-specific collision and audio errors.
