Team Fortress 2 October 24 Update Delivers Map Fixes and Cosmetic Adjustments

Team Fortress 2 receives a wide-ranging maintenance patch addressing map geometry, cosmetic clipping errors, and community map adjustments.

Valve has released an update for Team Fortress 2 addressing numerous visual bugs, map exploits, and cosmetic errors across several community maps.

Map Adjustments and Bug Fixes

Arena map arena_lumberyard_event receives missing author credits, navigation mesh fixes, and adjustments to spawn windows and setup doors. On cp_darkmarsh, spell spawn timers drop from 180 seconds to 120 seconds, and uncollected spells now disappear after 30 seconds. The map also gains additional pumpkin bomb spawns, corrected portcullis lighting, and a reduced RED respawn wave time on the final point from 10 to 8 seconds. Payload map tow_dynamite fixes BLU ammo pick-up discrepancies, adds a missing wagon wheel, and deepens jump pad deathpits. Map pd_circus reduces points per player from 6 to 5, fixes phantom spell book prompts, removes distracting lighting, and resolves geometry gaps and teleporter placement near spawn doors.

Cosmetic and Audio Corrections

Item fixes resolve the Crook Combatant hiding the Scout dog tags, correct BLU Scout team color pants, and update backpack image resolutions for The Fast Learner. The Hound Hound and Thrilling Tracksuit schemas have unused settings removed, while Fleet Commander and Delldozer receive fixes for import issues. Sound script entries looking for missing .wav extensions now locate .mp3 files properly.

Gameplay Mechanics

The update restores mini-crits for the last player standing using the Crit-a-Cola and updates the Freaky Fair expert contract requirement to winning a single round on the map.

Why this patch matters

This patch focuses entirely on cleaning up lingering map bugs, contract requirements, and cosmetic errors rather than introducing new features.
