Stellaris Update 3.13.1 Rebalances Cosmic Storms

Stellaris patch 3.13.1 removes early-game Nexus Storms, lowers storm creation costs, and resolves multiple crash-to-desktop errors.

Update 3.13.1 for Stellaris arrives following the Cosmic Storms release. The patch introduces balance tweaks to planetary management, removes specific early-game storm types, and resolves crash causes.

Cosmic Storms Balance

Nexus Storms are removed from the early-game storm pool. Storm creation costs decrease, Astrometeorology jobs receive buffs, and Stormriders and Subterranean empires experience reduced devastation from storms. Scientist governors also reduce storm devastation.

Empire and Planet Tweaks

Planetscapers on Ocean Paradise receive blockers correctly, and the Strip Mine Planet decision is restricted to once per planet. Unique planets from Cosmic Storms no longer spawn in starting clusters and their sizes are reduced. Corporate and non-corporate planetscapers civics switch properly.

Bug Fixes and Stability

The update resolves multiple crash-to-desktop issues, including errors during fleet reinforcement in the fleet manager and problems with the in-game music player. Fallen Empires can no longer demand scientists exploring an Astral Rift.

Why this patch matters

Update 3.13.1 refines mechanics from Cosmic Storms, smoothing out storm devastation and eliminating early-game weather events.
