Starfield Update 1.14.74 Restores Uncapped Framerate and Fixes Trackers Alliance
Starfield update 1.14.74 brings back the uncapped framerate option on Xbox Series X, fixes Trackers Alliance bounties, and resolves numerous quest progression bugs.
Starfield update 1.14.74 brings performance improvements, creation kit additions, and a wide array of bug fixes. Xbox Series X players can utilize the uncapped framerate option once more, while numerous quests and the Trackers Alliance bounty system receive corrections.
Performance and Creation Kit
The uncapped frame rate option is available again for Xbox Series X users alongside general performance and stability improvements. The Message of the Day displays more consistently on Xbox. Console commands no longer disable certain achievements, and Shattered Space ownership now shows correctly for Steam users. The Creation Kit now supports lipsync animation data generation.
Gameplay and Combat Adjustments
The Annihilator Particle Beam damage-over-time effect no longer triggers companion reactions. A Leadership skill issue that kept companions quiet has been resolved, and the stealth bar functions more reliably around crowd NPCs. Destroyed ships no longer load without collision, and saves relying on missing content place players in better locations.
Trackers Alliance Overhauls
Roach now tracks completed bounties. Bounty targets appear correctly in Akila, Gagarin, and Cydonia with a wider variety of appearances, and they are removed after being dealt with and leaving the area. Extorting and killing bounty targets no longer grants additional credits, and extorting or bribing targets is no longer a guaranteed success.
Quest Progression Fixes
Multiple quest issues have been cleared. In The Starjacker, boarding the Junker Watchdog shows the correct objective. Legacy of the Fang fixes a door key issue if players left the area. The Duel allows players to speak to Danika after getting arrested for attacking her. The Scaled Citadel flags Anasko’s ID Key as a quest item. What Remains resolves a non-interactable hatch caused by certain creations and flags the Engineering Bay Access Card as a quest item. A House Divided keeps radiology doors unlocked if you leave and return, and lets players obtain the keycard from Madri after completion. Zealous Overreach addresses early-kill issues with Va’ruun Zealots, prevents conflicts with Conflict in Conviction, and stops Vortex Phantoms from interrupting the negotiation scene.
Why this patch matters
Update 1.14.74 tackles quest blockers and smooths out recent additions like the Trackers Alliance, while returning high-refresh performance options to console players.
