Stardew Valley Update 1.6.14 Fixes Crashes, Spouse Bugs, and Quality Drops

Stardew Valley patch 1.6.14 resolves vanilla and modded bugs, fixing animal product quality, spouse positioning errors, and fish loss.

Developer ConcernedApe has released update 1.6.14 for Stardew Valley, addressing quality-of-life oversights, multiplayer glitches, and rare crashes. The patch ensures animal products no longer harvest at zero quality and fixes issues tied to spouse behaviors and farmhands.

Vanilla Gameplay Fixes

Animal products no longer harvest with zero quality. Players will no longer lose a fish if they pass out while holding it or while fishing near a fish pond. Spouses feature extra interaction reactions when approached without dialogue, and a bug causing them to face the wrong direction after interactions is resolved.

Multiplayer and UI Stability

Farmhands no longer experience warping bugs that send spouses to coordinates 0,0. Deleting cabins no longer leaves homeless farmhands behind to crash the game, and players inside farm buildings display correctly on the world map. The geode opening menu is more stable if the window is resized.

Crash and Sound Fixes

Rare crashes tied to updating Robin's construction animation and obtaining Stardrops with stowed tools are prevented. The update also resolves a chimney duplication bug on new 1.6.9+ saves, fixes roommates requiring two house upgrades instead of one, and improves Russian translation text.

Modding Adjustments

Modded players and authors receive specific fixes. The update prevents crashes caused by mods adding too many streamed OGG sound effects and allows multiple instances of the same streamed OGG sound effect to play correctly.

Why this patch matters

Version 1.6.14 fixes remaining rough spots from the 1.6 rollout, ensuring smoother multiplayer sessions and fixing item-loss bugs.
