SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed v1.6 Patch Notes

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed version 1.6 adjusts stun durations by player position, shortens online lobby timers, and fixes progression bugs.

The v1.6 update for SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed brings mechanical adjustments to pick-up stun durations, shorter online queue timers, and critical bug fixes for player progression. Stun penalties now scale based on a player's track position, reducing the penalty for trailing runners.

Gameplay and Match Flow

Pick-up stun durations now scale based on player position. Runners in last place receive up to a 60 percent reduction in stun duration. The blast zone bug that knocked out the incorrect player when the second-place runner sat inside it is fixed. Restarting a local or campaign match now properly resets the blast zone.

Online Queue Timers

Lobby countdown timers are shortened for faster matchmaking. Ranked Free-For-All queues drop to 25 seconds, while Ranked 1v1 timers are reduced to 15 seconds.

Progression and Saves

Players with Windows usernames containing an underscore character no longer lose their progress every time they close the game. Steam users who met requirements in the pre-release beta will also see tutorial achievements unlock retroactively.

Visual and Audio Fixes

Cutscene dialogue boxes feature higher resolution 3D character models. Textures for the countdown on the Nintendo Switch version are sharper, and main menu transitions run faster. RedZone music now plays correctly when restarting a match.

Why this patch matters

Patch 1.6 makes trailing behind in SpeedRunners 2 more forgiving while addressing technical issues and long lobby waits.
