SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed Patch 1.6 Adjusts Stun Durations and Lobbies

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed receives Patch 1.6, introducing position-based stun scaling, faster matchmaking queue times, and a fix for progress-resetting usernames. The update also resolves blast zone and audio bugs.

Patch 1.6 for SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed brings concrete adjustments to match pacing and competitive fairness. The update changes how stuns work based on runner positioning, speeds up online queue waiting times, and fixes a critical save bug tied to Windows usernames.

Gameplay and Match Flow

Stun durations now scale dynamically depending on where a runner sits in the pack. Players trailing far behind experience significantly shorter stuns, scaling down to a 60% reduction for whoever is in last place. The update also fixes an issue where the second player incorrectly triggered knockout states while inside the blast zone. Additionally, restarting local or campaign matches now correctly resets the blast zone.

Online and Interface

Online lobby countdown timers are shorter, dropping to 25 seconds for Ranked Free-For-All and 15 seconds for Ranked 1v1 matches. Main menu transitions are faster, and cutscene dialogue box 3D character models now render at a higher resolution. RedZone music also plays properly when restarting a match.

Progression and Saves

A critical bug affecting players with underscore characters in their Windows usernames has been fixed. Previously, these users lost their progress every time they closed the game. Furthermore, Steam now retroactively unlocks tutorial achievements for anyone who met the unlock requirements during the pre-release beta.

Why this patch matters

Patch 1.6 delivers necessary quality-of-life adjustments that make matchmaking snappier and fix critical progression bugs for players with specific Windows account names.
