Silent Hill: Townfall Patch 1.4.0 Updates AI and Fixes Progression
Silent Hill: Townfall patch v1.4.0 adjusts enemy aggression and AI behaviors for The Weight, fixes progression blocks, and refines puzzle clarity.
Patch 1.4.0 arrives for Silent Hill: Townfall, updating the internal version display to v1.5.154194 while toning down enemy aggression and resolving progression issues.
Enemy and AI Adjustments
Grab attacks from The Weight now deal heavy damage instead of instant death on Story Mode and Normal difficulties. The Weight's searching and tracking behaviors are updated to prevent camping objectives or lingering in single locations excessively. Regular enemies feature reduced sensitivity to firearm sounds, running, and hiding space entries. Melee counterattack frequency drops, enemy grapples while blocking are removed, and players receive more recovery time after escaping grapples.
Puzzle and Navigation Improvements
A collectible manual for the Remote Systems Control console now provides quick reference options during operation. The Auxiliary Line puzzle pipe layout receives visual clarity updates. AZERTY keyboard key bindings are added, and ultrawide monitor users can now access the Letterbox option.
Bug Fixes and Stability
A progress-blocking glass barrier preventing entry to the CEG Tower in Part 5 is removed. Projector slide naming consistency errors are resolved, and out-of-bounds sequence breaks are patched. Frame pacing improvements reduce instances of streaming stutter.
Why this patch matters
This update makes survival encounters more forgiving by dialing back enemy tracking and fixing frustrating progress halts.
