Rainbow Six Siege Y9S4.2 Patch Notes Bring Major Oryx Buffs and Blackbeard Fixes
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege update Y9S4.2 cuts recovery times for Oryx, adjusts weapon damage ranges, and resolves numerous Blackbeard and map collision bugs.
Ubisoft has released patch Y9S4.2 for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, delivering adjustments to operator recovery times, weapon stats, and bug fixes across multiple maps and operators.
Operator Balancing
Oryx receives mobility changes, with dash recovery times reduced to 0.2 seconds generally, 0.3 seconds against walls, and 0.1 seconds against enemies. Kapkan swaps his Nitro Cell for Barbed Wire. Lesion sees his mine refill time increased to 30 seconds alongside a reduced maximum of eight mines. Buck trades his Hard Breach Charge for a Claymore, and Ram loses the ITA12S. Sledge drops to 2 health while gaining 2 speed.
Weapon and Caliber Changes
The TCSG12 damage increases to 75. The G36C receives reductions to vertical and lateral recoil. Slug shotguns face changes with destruction capabilities reduced, damage drop-off starting at 15 meters and ending at 25 meters, and minimum damage drop-off flooring at 60 percent.
Gameplay and Map Fixes
A fix ensures matches end when round-cancellation votes reach a majority. Observation tools maintain signal when deployed on surface edges while moving sideways. Level design fixes eliminate vault exploits on red walls, prevent positioning on top of a shed on House and a vending machine on Border, and fix incomplete hatch destruction in Kanal's 1F Lounge.
Operator and Interface Corrections
Fixes target Blackbeard, correcting issues with his breach ability timing, loadout stats, iron sight clipping, and shield damage displays. Osa cannot use the enter prompt to breach undamaged barricades while rappelling with her shield. Interface fixes restore Tachanka's Elite Slava Korolyu skin to the Bearing 9 menu and sync Blackbeard's sprint audio.
