Planet Zoo 2 Update 1.0.5 Targets Franchise Stability and Market Balance
Planet Zoo 2 Update 1.0.5 addresses critical Franchise Mode connectivity issues, market gender imbalances, and persistent stability problems.
Planet Zoo 2 Update 1.0.5 arrives to tackle community pain points following the game launch. The development team focuses on Franchise Mode stability, server connectivity, animal market gender distributions, and quality-of-life options like edge scrolling.
Franchise Mode and Server Connectivity
Franchise Mode receives multiple adjustments to ease connection hurdles. The update extends the login window to prevent server timeouts and increases the volume of animals added to the animal trading market. Frontier Zoos list a balanced ratio of male and female animals for cash, and natural birth rates in Franchise mode are rebalanced to provide an even split between sexes. Wildlife Reserve costs in Conservation Credits are also corrected.
Game Stability and Performance
Stability improvements target crashes when loading newly created or flat franchise zoos. Texture streaming updates reduce asset pop-in across parks. The patch resolves a crash tied to the Ecosystem Brush in the Tanzania Reserve and fixes an error that prevented new saves when no save slots remained. Incorrect complexity warnings no longer appear when loading into fully built zoos, and item browser filters reset properly upon level load.
Career and Sandbox Fixes
Career mode softlocks are eliminated. Deleting the Moon Jelly Exhibit in Nordic Fjords no longer breaks progression now that it functions as a placable item. Quick-releasing giraffes in the Great Rift Valley scenario no longer removes them permanently from storage. Opening the trading menu during dialogue in East Africa is fixed, and career notifications no longer persist on the main menu. Sandbox maps correctly apply the Terrain Only option when exported from career scenarios.
Animal Behaviors and Park Management
Animals are boxed less frequently during wild migrations, though climbing and jumping behaviors remain under investigation. Albinism textures load correctly for meerkats, and fish no longer escape aquarium boundaries during habitat shifts. Park management fixes correct vet staff getting stuck removing deceased animals from aquariums and resolve an issue where inspection reports capped at four stars despite perfect ratings.
Controls and Interface
Edge scrolling returns as a toggleable option in Keyboard and Mouse settings. Gamepad responsiveness is improved in the Edit Media panel, and the ESC hotkey functions reliably after using nature brushes. Path panel width settings work properly when using feet as the measurement unit, and search bar focus issues in the Object Browser are resolved.
Why this patch matters
Update 1.0.5 provides relief for early server and stability hurdles while restoring missing quality-of-life features that players expected at launch.
