Planet Zoo 2 Update 1.0.4 Improves Franchise Stability and Animal Navigation

Planet Zoo 2 Update 1.0.4 arrives with performance fixes, Franchise Mode stability updates, and adjustments to animal behavior and navigation. The patch also resolves keybinding resets, graphics bugs, and map editing limits.

Planet Zoo 2 receives Update 1.0.4, bringing a sweep of stability fixes, animal behavior adjustments, and quality-of-life additions. The patch addresses frequent animal boxing, Franchise Mode desyncs, and various progression blocks across Career and Sandbox modes.

Stability and Franchise Improvements

The update tackles several core performance hurdles, resolving multiple crash triggers tied to scenery manipulation, rapid hub transitions, and blueprint multiselection. Franchise Mode receives specific stability patches alongside wider access to initial animal trading volumes and fixes for trade listing errors on juvenile shoals. FSR and DLSS now function properly from the graphics menu, and custom keybindings no longer reset when opening the Hub or animal menus.

Animal Behavior and Navigation

Animal navigation sees multiple adjustments, notably a reduction in the frequency at which animals are automatically boxed. Climbing, jumping, and pouncing animations have been tweaked alongside habitat escape behaviors, enrichment interactions, and breeding success rates. Shoal welfare requirements are updated with new social group information panels, and dead shoals no longer teleport erratically.

Park Management and Construction

Interest rates on low-level loans are reduced, and park reputation now properly aligns with animal welfare statistics. Construction tools receive a default angle snap drop to 1 degree, and the demolish brush remembers its set height. Editable areas have been expanded across several sculpted sandbox maps in Grassland, Temperate, Tropical, and China regions to allow the removal of blocking structures like car parks and villages.

Career and UI Fixes

Career progression bugs where later save slots prematurely unlocked levels based on slot one are resolved. Audio distortion during heatmap cycling and unexpected audio cutoffs in the Great Rift Valley scenario are fixed. Gamepad users can now favorite Animal Market listings and delete all items in a multiselected group with a single key.

Why this patch matters

Update 1.0.4 addresses core simulation friction points and stability bugs that disrupted Franchise and Career sessions at launch.
