Paperhead Updates to Versions v48 through v49.5 with Optimizations and Softlock Fixes
Paperhead rolls out updates v48 through v49.5 packed with performance optimizations, progression-blocking softlock fixes, and quality-of-life additions like a dialogue skip button.
Paperhead has received several post-launch updates spanning versions v48 to v49.5, focusing heavily on game stability, performance optimizations, and eliminating progression bugs across multiple levels.
Performance and Stability
The patch introduces a series of engine optimizations and small bug fixes. A fix is also implemented to address the game crashing bug tied to Unity.
Gameplay and Quality of Life
Players can now completely disable gamepad detection and use a dialogue skip button for levels completed previously. Physics objects no longer phase through walls, the slow-motion ability no longer stops abruptly after killing two enemies at once, bomb-to-pickup collisions are disabled, prop jumps are removed from Survival Mode, and a Survival Mode time exploit is fixed.
Level and Softlock Fixes
Progression blockers are cleared across the campaign. Level 3 fixes address a jumppad softlock alongside other softlocks. Level 17 softlocks are resolved. Level 11 fixes correct a water no-collision bug, a broken final door, and a fish bug that allowed players to find themselves behind the fish. Level 10 fixes a bug where the boss died but did not register as dead. Additional fixes stop drone 0 from clipping out of bounds during slides and resolve an elevator bug.
Why this patch matters
These patches address critical progression barriers and performance issues, making the core campaign and Survival Mode much more stable.
