Ostranauts Hotfix 0.14.2.12 Brings MopTops Mod, Sink UI Upgrades, and AI Fixes

Blue Bottle Games has dropped hotfix v0.14.2.12 for Ostranauts, integrating Terry's MopTops mod for expanded character customization and overhauling sink and career creation UIs. The update also tackles inventory bugs, AI pathfinding, and ledger performance.

Blue Bottle Games has released hotfix version 0.14.2.12 for Ostranauts, following the recent Across the System update. This patch folds in official community mod content, restores multi-buy character creation features, and resolves numerous quality-of-life and AI issues.

Character Customization and Career Kiosk

Terry's MopTops mod is now officially integrated, adding dozens of new hairstyles and beards. The sink UI has been updated to show selected face parts, available counts, exposed teeth during editing, and hand skin color matching. Meanwhile, the career kiosk now permits selecting multiple skills and traits simultaneously using training years, restoring the original NEO Scavenger style. Ugly and Beautiful, as well as Trusting and Suspicious, are now correctly designated as anti-traits.

AI and Crew Improvements

AI pathfinding has been adjusted to prevent characters from selecting void tiles as wander destinations or spawning outside playable space. AI characters will also stop spamming anti-nausea pills unless they are actually nauseous. Crew members can now access the player's residence via transit systems.

Inventory, Door Locks, and Performance

Laser torch and hoodie loot in Seek Adventure is now reliably delivered, and item stack manipulation should cause fewer invisibly blocked grid spaces or null exceptions. Door lock UI now correctly checks hacking skills for non-captain users and warns when a door lacks power. Performance optimizations include consolidating old ledger items, removing unused floating text and redundant FURN installation items, and adjusting autopause to ignore redundant cases.

Why this patch matters

Hotfix 0.14.2.12 successfully merges community content into the base game while smoothing out persistent AI quirks and inventory bugs.
