Ostranauts Hotfix 0.14.2.11 Fixes Infinite Recursion and AI Logic
Ostranauts update v0.14.2.11 addresses game-crashing inventory bugs, improves crew shift calculations, and adjusts NPC behavior loops.
Blue Bottle Games has released hotfix v0.14.2.11 for Ostranauts. The update fixes critical crashes, smooths out UI context menus, and corrects several erratic AI routines introduced in the Across the System update.
Critical Fixes and Inventory Logic
A severe bug that crashed the game via infinite recursion when attempting to place leggings inside their own pocket is resolved. The game disallows placing any item inside itself. Additionally, transit on OKLG to the Port sector no longer deposits characters inside walls.
Crew AI and Shift Management
Using super fast-forward across shifts now correctly updates crew work schedules. NPCs are less prone to gaming and TV binging during work shifts and non-free hours, and they use arcade machines instead of terminals for gaming. Crew members also adjust their helmets to refresh air earlier, dropping the threshold from 2.0kPa to 1.5kPa CO2 to match the helmet alarm.
Interface and Menu Tweaks
Context menu priorities for drinking, taking pills, and trading with NPCs and kiosks are shifted higher, appearing above drop and pick-up options. The ambient occlusion setting is now capped at 4 to prevent heavy framerate drops. Finally, the signal connection UI no longer locks up with a blank screen if you cancel out of linking an appliance to a sensor.
Why this patch matters
This hotfix eliminates inventory crashes and brings stability to crew management and interface navigation.
